Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ)
about how & why anybody in their right mind
would use magic for adult entertainment.
Q: Isn't magic just for kids?
A: Kids love magic, it's true, but probably 75% of my work is geared
to adult audiences.
Q: What types of groups do you perform for?
A: Large & small businesses, schools, service organizations, (Rotary,
Lions, Kiwanis, etc.) church groups, fairs, festivals, senior groups,
libraries and health care facilities, to name a few.
Q: How do they use you?
A: For 22 years, schools have selected my motivational programs to augment
their efforts on drug awareness and self-esteem; libraries use my "Magic of
Reading" show; businesses call on me for special recognition banquets,
product promotions and trade shows; many groups require a master of
ceremonies. Hospitals and rehabs have discovered the practical aspects of
humor-therapy as they apply to staff/client wellness. Senior groups (and
others) enjoy a comical "stress reduction seminar". Creative organizers for
almost any event recognize the value of well-placed, customized magic.
Q: I saw a magician embarrass someone once, and it turned me
off to magic.
A: It would me, too. Respect for my audience is my top priority. I
want to keep working.
Q: Do you wear a clown costume?
A: No. (Not since I put in 12 years as ”you-know-who" for that
major fast-food chain.)
Q: Do you have more than one act?
A: Yes. Magic is a very adaptable tool. It allows a flexible performer
to design the program according to the needs of the client. That's
one of the things I love most about it, and frankly, I think of that
creativity as more important than the show itself.
Q: So it's not just for fun?
A: Oh, it's definitely fun. It's probably 80% laughter and 20%
mystery. But I'm particularly proud of my ability to "connect"
on other important levels that lock your message or goals in with
the audience.
Q: What's your favorite show format?
A: One of my most popular formats is what I call the "stress
reduction seminar". The combination of magic, comedy and
"everyday props" demonstrates the relationship between laughter
and good health, and invites participants to consider ways they
can laugh and live longer. (I also love the challenge of motivating
third graders about some of the serious issues they face today.)
Q: What about fees? I hate to "negotiate" prices with
entertainers.
A: There's no need to feel awkward about this. My fees are
competitive, and depend on things like type of program, travel,
time of day/night, weekdays vs. weekend, etc. I respect the
reality of budgets, and can offer some creative ways to work
almost anything out.
Q: Are you any good?
A: Over twenty years' experience has brought me many return engagements and
a growing client base. I am happy to provide testimonial letters from a
variety of groups. Just give me a call:
